The first winch to boast support within the mobile application is the Superwinch — a 9,700 pound sealed vehicle recovery winch assembly. Prior to the Lantronix solution, winch controls were historically limited to handheld joystick controllers reminiscent of early video game controllers — rugged in design, limited in both mobility (wired versus wireless) and functionality — typically providing basic -on / off- and -forward / reverse- capabilities.
