Roxtar Labs Doubles Kickstarter Goal in Seven Days

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 11/05/13 — Roxtar Labs, creator of the Apollo technical pen and drafting scale, today announces that it has doubled its Kickstarter goal in just seven days. Supported by more than 545 Kickstarter backers, the Apollo is a high-quality pen machined out of aerospace-grade titanium and marine-grade stainless steel, and has been coined the world-s most versatile drafting instrument.

“We are simply floored by the outpouring of support we have received from the Kickstarter community,” said Pranay Kumar, co-founder of Roxtar Labs. “We met our $30,000 goal in under two days. We knew there was a need for a high-quality drafting pen and now we are confident that consumers agree. The Apollo is that pen.”

The Apollo Pen supports more than 50 precision-point, needle-point, rollerball and fineliner refills to assist in tackling projects that require various types of ink, colors and line weights. Its unique hexagonal body and knurled grip work to enhance comfort and control during use, while the pattern and size of the stainless steel grip allows for hours of work without fatigue.

Forged from a single solid block of aircraft grade aluminum, the Apollo Tri-Scale serves as a fully functional architect-s scale and a transporter case for Apollo Pens. The Tri-Scale combines a 6-sided ruler with a three pen storage and selection system, and can be used to convert length measurements on the fly.

“The Apollo Pen is made by makers for makers,” continued Kumar. “Our aim was to create a set of professional tools that would not only surpass an architect-s drafting requirements, but also inspire confidence and creativity in any project.”

Together, the Apollo Pen and Tri-Scale make use of a variety of interchangeable upgrade modules to facilitate all drafting, drawing, measuring and writing needs. Upgrades include swapping the pen-s color rings to indicate refill color, adding a stylus to the pen, and even converting the pen into a mechanical pencil. While perfectly suited for the architect community, the Apollo is also a quality pen for everyday use.
