Boundary Extends Visibility to New AWS CloudTrail

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/13/13 — has enhanced support for companies hosting data and applications on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud with the announcement today of a new IT Operations Management service for AWS CloudTrail users.

The new Boundary event management service () delivers log visibility and analysis then enriches data captured by AWS CloudTrail, the new web service that records AWS API calls from an account, announced today at AWS re:Invent 2013. AWS CloudTrail captures changes made to AWS resources through APIs, and logs it to an Amazon S3 location.

The new Boundary event management service for AWS CloudTrail provides context around this valuable and rich log data, presenting relevant event data and annotations within the Boundary performance metrics for analysis and scanning of critical flags, keywords and characters. The graphical data delivers another key source of information to help IT determine the root cause of potential security issues, configuration problems or performance breakdowns much faster. The free service will be available to existing Boundary customers and new customers, and adds to Boundary-s capabilities for monitoring AWS through collecting and analyzing event data from Amazon EC2. The free Boundary event management service for AWS CloudTrail also integrates data from AWS OpsWorks, giving IT Operations a combined view of changes made to their Amazon EC2 instances.

“AWS CloudTrail is a result of significant customer demand for enhanced visibility into AWS user made changes,” said Brian Matsubara, Head of Global Technology Alliances, AWS. “Boundary has worked with us to further enhance that information, giving a consolidated view into the most current logs to simplify search and help prioritize log events for action. By combining the log insight with Boundary-s streaming AWS flow data, customers can easily move from an alert into deeper situational awareness with granular views into change history and performance data.”

“The AWS CloudTrail detailed log data provides a rich and much-needed audit trail for IT operations staff,” said Clayton Ching, director of product management at Boundary. “With Boundary-s event management service for AWS CloudTrail, IT Operations can view all relevant AWS changes in a single console, with the ability to search and drill down as necessary.”

allows customers to monitor their entire IT environments from a single point of control and is uniquely designed to deal with challenges stemming from modern, highly distributed applications. Boundary-s best-in-class centralizes and correlates events, alerts and notifications from any source, enabling Ops/DevOps professionals to quickly see the total picture. Event management data is enriched by Boundary-s ability to provide a real-time, all-the-time snapshot of the logical application topology. Boundary is privately held, based in San Francisco, and backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Scale Venture Partners. For more information on Boundary visit us on the web at or on .
