Allied Fiber Announces the Official Launch of its Nationwide System

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 11/19/13 — , the first integrated, network-neutral dark fiber, colocation and interconnection provider in the United States, held its official launch event at Phillips Point Club in West Palm Beach, FL on November 13, 2013. Celebrating the launch of Allied Fiber-s National System, the event began with tours of its West Palm Beach colo facility, the first colo facility installed in the Miami to Jacksonville Segment, and concluded with a presentation on the benefits Allied Fiber brings to the State of Florida and a luncheon. Nearly 100 guests gathered for the event. The attendee list was comprised of local and state government officials, industry media representatives, investors, vendors, and customers.

“Allied Fiber is very proud and honored to launch the first segment of its nationwide system in the State of Florida,” says Hunter Newby, CEO of Allied Fiber. “The United States has been lacking a network-neutral entity responsible for national level dark fiber and integrated colocation infrastructure. The neutral entity role is one that supports the country-s increasing reliance on the Internet and mobile networks and is a critical driver of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth. It is Allied Fiber-s mission to provide the long and short haul dark fiber needs of all network operators in the U.S. along the superstructure route we are constructing. We believe our integrated dark fiber and neutral colocation infrastructure will serve as a catalyst for economic growth and development throughout the Country.”

“The City of West Palm Beach is honored to be the first city to house an Allied Fiber colo facility,” says Jeri Muoio, Mayor of West Palm Beach. “Everything that Allied Fiber has accomplished so far in the State of Florida is just the beginning of what is to come for this country. From a local perspective, the planning and construction of the colo facility and fiber jetting has already positively impacted West Palm Beach-s economy. We anticipate even greater economic growth as Allied Fiber continues to install fiber throughout our state and around the rest of the U.S.”

As recently reported by PCIA, The Wireless Infrastructure Association, wireless infrastructure could be the key to the economic growth of the United States. The report predicts that wireless infrastructure could be responsible for a 2.2% increase in GDP by 2017 and goes on to forecast the wireless infrastructure industry creating 28,000 jobs in 2017 alone and over 122,000 jobs in the infrastructure industry within the next five years. Total job growth is expected to exceed 253,000 nationwide by 2017 (). With its new dark fiber infrastructure open to all network operators, Allied Fiber will provide the catalyst for the economic growth and employment predicted by PCIA.

In addition to the discussions of the positive impact of the Allied Fiber build, Jason Cohen, President and COO of Allied Fiber, discussed aspects of the fiber and colo construction in Florida and provided a progress update. “At this point in time Allied Fiber has installed 1,345,000 feet of fiber which equates to over 250 miles of fiber along the East Coast of Florida,” says Cohen. “We expect to complete the fiber installation through Jacksonville by late December and construction of all six Florida colos by late January. Once we complete Florida, we will focus our efforts on continuing fiber and colo facility construction from Jacksonville to Atlanta.”

The Allied Fiber system is designed to link the international subsea cable landing points in the United States while also providing for intermediate access along the route for the inclusion of local networks in to the global network architecture. Allied Fiber is the first integrated, network-neutral dark fiber, colocation and interconnection provider open to all network operators in the United States.

The Company, established in 2008, is building a new communications infrastructure across the Country that enables endpoints, such as international subsea cable landing points, wireless towers and data centers to physically connect. By managing communications infrastructure as a real estate business for network operators the Company has developed a platform that enables its customers growth and profitability which drives its own.
