PALO ALTO, CA — December 3, 2013 — HP Enterprise Services today announced that the Ohio Department of Medicaid has signed a $180 million agreement for HP (NYSE: HPQ) to continue to manage and enhance the Ohio Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS) and transform the hardware platform on which it runs.

Under the terms of the four-year agreement, which includes a pair of two-year options, HP will help ensure that MITS is a flexible, scalable and stable system. It will support federal policy changes, including the Affordable Care Act and state requirements, and has the potential for up to 600,000 additional Medicaid recipients forecast for the coming years.

HP will package the MITS hardware, monitoring and software as a service to provide agility and scale in facing future challenges.

HP also will provide to help improve the state-s ability to handle growth in recipients and claims with accuracy, timeliness and uninterrupted service by adding integrated eligibility. HP also will deploy federally mandated medical coding features as required by law.
