TokuDB is driven by Fractal Tree® indexing, a modern big data database indexing scheme invented by Tokutek. It performs up to two orders of magnitude faster than the traditional B-tree technology found in nearly all RDBMS systems. It addresses the difficult, costly challenge of delivering high-volume and high velocity ingestion (write-intensive) activity at the same time as analytic (read-intensive) work in real time. With TokuDB v7.5, MySQL and MariaDB users realize the following new benefits:
– Enables replication slaves to be configured to process the binary logs with virtually no read IO, which significantly accelerates the replication process.
– Adds the capability to backup differing tokudb_data_dir, tokudb_log_dir, and binary log folder.
Bringing the same performance enhancement to more complex SELECT statements as well as DELETE statements, this new capability is much faster than retrieving a row at a time.
– TokuDB v7.5 ships on MySQL 5.5.39 and MariaDB 5.5.39.
