Quixey Brings Mobile App and Deep Search to China

HANGZHOU, CHINA and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/17/14 — Quixey today announced at the Alibaba Worldwide Developer Conference that it is the sole provider of app search and deep search for YunOS, Alibaba–s mobile operating system. At the conference, Quixey also launched a worldwide developer program in China, marking the company–s first step toward establishing its global network. As part of the developer program launch, Quixey–s AppURL will become the official deep linking standard in China.

Apps are central to the mobile experience, accounting for 86 percent of all time spent on mobile, but most mobile search is still driven by app names and keywords. It remains difficult to access the content located deep inside apps, which is often the most valuable content on a device. To enhance mobile search for YunOS users, Quixey is using two key technologies: Functional Search and deep search.

Functional Search will allow YunOS users to find apps based on what they want to do, rather than the application–s name or associated keywords. Deep search gives YunOS users direct access to the content and utility that exists deep within apps. As the first true mobile search solution in China, Quixey will power the main search interface for millions of YunOS users.

In addition to powering mobile search on YunOS, Quixey is launching a global developer network to encourage developers to integrate Quixey–s technology and build deep search into their apps. The key goal of the developer network is to provide value in app distribution, user re-engagement, and monetization; eventually providing developers with access to more than 100 million users. The network helps developers provide a better user experience by opening up more content to search and displaying more information to users.

“With AppURL as the official deep linking standard in China, Quixey allows developers to deeply connect apps across devices and makes content discoverable,” said Tomer Kagan, CEO of Quixey. “There are millions of apps, with millions of functionalities and billions of pieces of content and people have no idea what–s out there. As a user, I don–t want to have pick an app to search. I should be able to search all my apps from the same place every time. That–s what we–re bringing to YunOS.”

Quixey–s global developer network gives app makers the following tools:

A cross-platform method for developers to deep link into apps, and the official deep linking standard of Alibaba.

Gives insights into how an app is performing and where it ranks in search.

Displays specific app content in search results, like songs, reviews, or recipes.

will be offered in the coming months.
