NAC Global Technologies Awarded Order for Exoskeleton System Drives

JACKSONVILLE, FL — (Marketwired) — 11/05/14 — NAC Global Technologies (OTCQB: NACG) today announced it has been awarded an order to manufacture its first drives for exoskeleton system applications. Delivery is scheduled in December 2014 with trials anticipated in January 2015.

NAC–s harmonic gearing drives will be incorporated in exoskeleton joints to provide powered mobility for patients with disabilities and spinal cord injuries. NAC–s technology of harmonic gearing offers very high ratios, power densities and efficiencies. It enables joints that are light weight and more comfortable to wear. They provide extremely smooth motion, and the ratios achieved by NAC–s drives can exceed 260:1. The NAC drive technology allows the use of small, energy efficient motors and long battery life without sacrificing the overall power capability of the system. Comfort, weight, power, sensitive motion and battery life are all extremely important attributes for exoskeleton systems enabled by NAC–s harmonic gearing drive technology.

Mr. Vincent Genovese, Chairman and CEO of NAC, said, “Passion, it–s the best word to describe how we feel about using NAC drives in exoskeleton systems. This order again validates that our technology is gaining traction in the marketplace; yet beyond that, it embodies the passion for our work. It represents what we reach for and demonstrates how we can and are striving to assist others, making lives better through our work. Our mission statement in part reads: –For our nation, we will do our upmost to provide critical technology where and when it is required. For the global community, we will seek out new ways to utilize our technologies for the betterment of the planet and its inhabitants as a whole.– Our technology, integrated into a system that helps disabled and paralyzed patients walk, clearly demonstrates the meaning of our mission and is an example of how we are achieving it. We are positioned very well to address and assist companies in the medical robotics space with validated technology, the experience to optimize application performance, flexible manufacturing, an understanding and true passion to help others via our technology.”

NAC Global Technologies is a development and manufacturing company. Its platform harmonic gearing technology is of key importance in the automation, robotics, and the defense industries and is enabling developments of new technologies. The company is expanding its market reach into emerging clean energy and advanced robotic applications with strategic initiatives in solar aiming, turbines, and new non-hazardous, non-volatile, environmentally friendly fuel cells suitable for use in aircraft and portable power.
