KickOn Will Change the Way the World Parties Forever

LOS ANGELES, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/11/14 — Australia–s best partying asset — KickOn, an event discovery app that connects partygoers with party throwers — has launched in the U.S. and is helping people find parties like Tinder helps them find partners.

KickOn officially launched in Australia on October 26 and generated 25,000 downloads in the first week. It works by providing partiers and those looking to attend events do exactly that by removing obstacles such as a limited social network or lack of promotion, KickOn helps organizers make their private events discoverable, and just how discoverable is up to the host.

Described as a digital Van Wilder, KickOn also provides a way for people to discover and attend social events that until now have been unattainable.

“Five years ago, the thought of using an app to go on a date based only on a photograph was unheard of — but look at the success of Tinder. We–re using the same philosophy to enable private parties to be open to new and socially sought-after attendees. It gives introverts, extroverts and everyone in between the opportunity and confidence to host house parties like never before and invite people they want party with — even if they–ve never met them,” said CEO of KickOn, Charles Stewart.

Charles is a Sydney investment banker who raised private investment capital to fund the venture and expand the business globally. Charles arrives in the US on October 29, along with Australian Party Liaison competition winner and KickOn ambassador, Chanel Silao. Together, they will tour four of America–s biggest party colleges to find the country–s best party liaison and reward them with an all expenses paid party of their dreams.

“I–m thrilled to launch KickOn in the US because this is the land of legendary college parties, sororities, fraternities and social networks. But the US party culture faces some of the same problems as Australia — early closing times and the logistics of traveling from one place to another. KickOn offers the solution to this by providing a number of nearby events to go to after the bars close,” continues Charles.

KickOn comes with its own set of self-regulating rules to ensure it–s safe and social.

Charles adds, “The currency of the digital age is reputation. KickOn provides an easy way for users to rate each other based on responsible partying. An attendee has the option to rate the party they attended out of five stars. The host then selects their top three MVPs (most valuable partiers) and can name an unlimited number of “party poopers.” The intention of every user is to get a good rating to prove they–re a person worth partying with.”

A party host uses the app to set up their event

The event goes live (but the address is kept hidden)

Partygoers request to attend by swiping right, or pass by swiping left

The host decides whether to invite people who have requested to attend

Those invited receive a “Kicket” (a unique, scannable code which is shown prior to entry) can see the event–s address and attend

Partiers are rewarded through a voting system. The best partiers will receive votes for MVP (most valuable partier). Those that weren–t well behaved or didn–t add value to the party scene lose reputation points, voted as a “party pooper.”
