Visionstate Upgrades Interactive Directories and Mobile Application at Ivanhoe Cambridge Property Southgate Centre

In 2005, Southgate Centre (Edmonton, AB) underwent the very first installation of the Virtual Customer Care Interface (ViCCi). An impressive nine years of operation has lead the Shopping centre to continue its service and upgrade their five interactive wayfinding kiosks to the newest version of ViCCi, install the latest hardware, and add our versatile companion mobile web application.

ViCCi is a proprietary software that Visionstate has expertly developed to provide guests with the information they are looking for. Using large format interactive screens, ViCCi will show shoppers how to get to their favorite stores, tell them what is on sale, provide them with the latest job offers, and keep them up to date with events. It is an engaging way to inform shoppers of exactly what they are looking for.

Southgate–s kiosk hardware upgrades have increased the functionality of the directories by utilizing brand new 47″ HD Display screens, 32″ HD Touchscreens, and the latest in computer technology. Larger, high resolution screens allow for a vivid picture and additional screen space to easily grab shoppers– attention. The cutting edge computers give provide more processing power and are more durable than the original ones. Both These hardware changes facilitate our software additions, and add to the overall guest experience.

Southgate has added multiple features to their interactive directory, here is a list:

Adaptive Static-Navigation: While the touchscreen portion of ViCCi is in use, passersby no longer have to wait for the unit to be free to find their destination. They can simply look at one of the large format screens. It acts just like a poster style printed map, but allows for changes without a reprint. When a store in the mall changes or kiosk is added, changes can be made and applied as needed.

Sales/Promotions: Southgate now has the ability to have stores list/advertise their biggest sales and promotions in one place. Great for shoppers to be fully informed and for stores to drive traffic while people are looking for directions. A very useful addition to the new ViCCi software.

Mobile Web Application: Everything on the ViCCi Directory, ported over to any mobile device in an instant. Using QR scanning or NFC (if installed), Southgate shoppers can located their favorite stores and find those sales from their phones. Because it was developed for web-use, it will open in any mobile browser and not be limited by brand.

Content Management System (CMS): ViCCi–s CMS gives all of the content control to the mall. Any picture, paragraph, advertisements, or store location can be changed from any browser at all times. It allows for changes to the interactive content to be extremely adaptive, and change with the fast paced retail environment.

Speed: The new hardware that we are using significantly increasing the operating speed of the units. Everything from updates to individual touch animations will happen at a much faster pace.

Southgate is one of five Ivanhoe Cambridge shopping centre–s using ViCCi right now.
