Teradici Extends PCoIP Workstation Access Software to Data Center Deployments

BURNABY, BC — (Marketwired) — 04/28/15 — ®, developer of industry-leading for virtual workspaces, today announced the release of , which includes data center support, new mobile client support and availability in APAC markets.

Launched in August 2014, Teradici–s PCoIP Workstation Access Software helps enhance mobility for users like architects, engineers, construction managers and manufacturing designers, and provides improved access to workstations from wherever the user happens to be, on a variety of devices.

“Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software is budget-friendly, easy to deploy and manage, and offers the benefits of virtualized workstation support,” said Dan Streufert, Director of IT at MedPlast. “The all-software solution instantly boosted productivity, making it easier for our engineers to move from site to site, and equipping project managers to address issues on the spot.”

This latest release can be deployed in data centers (direct connect or brokered), so IT managers can deliver high quality remote access to workstations, while improving scalability and management of computing resources. The solution supports virtualized workstations with VMware vSphere® and is compatible with Leostream broker, providing secure remote access over WAN — without the need for a VPN.

“We–ve seen tremendous interest in our PCoIP Workstation Access Software from organizations in graphics-intensive industries looking to cost-effectively provide designers with high quality remote access to their workstation,” said Dan Cordingley, president and CEO of Teradici. “With today–s release, IT will be able to deliver an outstanding remote user experience with the flexibility of choosing the deployment model, data center or deskside, most convenient to their organization.”

The latest update also includes broader device support with new PCoIP mobile clients for Android and iOS tablets, providing more flexibility for end-users to share, edit or review work on the go.

Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software 2.0 is now available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Nordics, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand; and will be extended to more markets in APAC – including China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, and India — before the end of May 2015.

“Reducing the complexities of connecting users and managing hosted resources in both virtual and physical environments is the heart of Leostream–s business,” said Karen Gondoly, COO of Leostream Corporation. “We have a successful history with Teradici supporting brokered deployments with PCoIP Remote Workstation Cards, and are pleased to now be enabling their software solution using our Leostream Connection Broker 8.1.”

“Through our partnership with Teradici, we–re able to provide mobility to the creative professionals who rely on our desktop workstations,” said Shoaib Mohammad, BOXX Technologies vice president of marketing and business development. “The addition of mobile clients for iOS and Android further enhances the experience by allowing engineers, architects, and motion media pros to benefit from the same remote work-style as their knowledge-worker colleagues.”

“The addition of Teradici PCoIP Workstation Access Software to our Dell Precision portfolio has enhanced mobility options for our users, enabling them to access high-performance computing resources from a greater variety of end-point devices,” said Andy Rhodes, executive director, Dell Precision Workstations and IoT. “Extending the solution to virtualized environments is the next logical step and has been realized with this release. Customers need ways to consolidate and share data across multiple users in the most efficient and secure way possible. This improves a team–s ability to collaborate, which leads to efficiency gains that ultimately help organizations bring products to market faster and get on the path to achieving ROI sooner.
