LILEE SYSTEMS Selected by GE Transportation to Design and Deploy Interoperable Train Control Messaging Communication System on Michigan Line

SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwired) — 05/27/15 — , the leading provider of advanced wired and wireless communication products, solutions and services for the transportation industry, has been selected by GE Transportation to design and deploy the interoperable train control messaging (ITCM) communication system for the 135 miles of track between Kalamazoo and Dearborn, which is owned by the State of Michigan and used for both passenger service and freight.

LILEE SYSTEMS will provide its Wayside Status Relay Service (WSRS) and LMC-5500 to serve as the backbone of the ITCM communication system in addition to engineering design and testing services. LILEE SYSTEMS will also provide its Positive Train Control System Management Gateway (PTC SMG) to provide a comprehensive network management solution for remote diagnostics and software upload capability for the locomotive, wayside, and back office environment. LILEE SYSTEMS– PTC SMG and WSRS are designed to fully support the requirements developed by the industry.

“The Michigan Line project is a testament to LILEE SYSTEMS– technical expertise and capabilities in the design and deployment of ITCM communications systems, and it validates our experience in delivering Positive Train Control (PTC) communication solutions to railroads and transit authorities. The primary factors that led GE Transportation to choose LILEE SYSTEMS include: (1) proven WSRS technology, (2) robust engineering and system design capabilities, (3) experience in providing interoperable train control (ITC) communications systems to Class I railroads, and (4) specific demonstrated success in working with the multiple Class I railroads that require interoperability with this implementation.” – John Harlan, Strategic Account Manager for LILEE SYSTEMS.

In 2012, LILEE SYSTEMS introduced the first commercially available WSRS platform engineered for full compliance with ITC interoperability requirements. The WSRS was first deployed on one of the nation–s largest rail transit systems. LILEE SYSTEMS– PTC SMG has been deployed on multiple Class I railroads, offering transit organizations a proven and powerful solution for meeting their system management requirements.

LILEE SYSTEMS was founded in 2009 by industry leaders with extensive backgrounds in wireless communications, network routing and switching, and software defined radio (SDR). We have a proven track record in designing, building and bringing to market highly reliable and mission-critical networking architectures, infrastructure and solutions.

We shipped our first products in 4Q 2011 into the railroad market, seizing the opportunity that emerged with the Congress-mandated deployment of Positive Train Control (PTC) which required wired and wireless networking solutions that were previously nonexistent in the railroad industry. We recently expanded into the broader transportation market with a solutions portfolio that includes passenger connectivity and other broadband solutions such as safety, security and maintenance/management. Additional markets include First Responders, Homeland Security and Military.

LILEE is the market leader in the connected transportation space, with well-established partner and alliance programs.
