Avi Networks Integrates With Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) for Application Delivery and Analytics

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/04/15 — Avi Networks the Cloud Application Delivery Company, today announced that it has completed the integration project between its next-gen Application Delivery Controller (ADC) solution called and the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), both purpose-built solutions to address the specific requirements of software-defined networks and modern day applications. Avi Networks made the benefits of this integration available to its customers through the latest release of its CADP software, v. 15.1.

Included in the successful integration is full and proven interoperability between Avi Networks– CADP and the Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC), a key SDN-based product in the Cisco ACI portfolio. The Avi solution integrates into Cisco ACI environments through RESTful APIs, providing end-users with holistic application delivery, security and load balancing, in addition to real-time visibility, monitoring, and integrated (inline) analytics of their on-premise and cloud-based applications.

The highly complementary nature of the Avi and Cisco solutions is achieved through a common architecture featuring unified management and control planes, as well as the ability to scale data plane resources elastically, on-demand as application requirements dictate. The Avi CADP is a pure software ADC that runs on any x86-based infrastructure and is the industry–s first and only ADC to offer a true separation of the control and data planes that mirrors Cisco APIC architecture.

“Cisco ACI has been built with a broad and deep ecosystem of partners to give our customers freedom of choice among vendors,” said Ish Limkakeng, VP, Cisco. “We are pleased to have Avi Networks join our ecosystem and to have them share our vision for automation and agility in the data center.”

Avi and Cisco are executing on this vision by providing their joint customers with a rich end-user experience in managing their applications through real-time visibility and actionable insights. Avi Networks– Inline Analytics capability is one of its key solution differentiators that helps network operations gain actionable insights into real-time user and application health parameters that can be used to maximize application performance and the end-user experience. The inline analytics module integrated within the Avi next-gen ADC aligns well with the centralized and deep network infrastructure visibility available through the Cisco APIC solution.

The Avi integration is also highly differentiated from legacy ADC deployments in terms of operational simplicity by providing a between the Avi controller and the Cisco APIC controller.

“We are excited to announce the availability of the integration with Cisco ACI, which is one of the most important data center and cloud networking solutions,” said Umesh Mahajan, CEO of Avi Networks. “The Cisco ACI is a true application driven environment and it requires a complementary approach to application delivery to guarantee the proper end-user experience and application performance, which are fundamental for success in today–s era of cloud, mobile and virtualization technologies.”
