The company, which has offered website backup for over five years and currently monitors more than 250,000 websites for 50,000 companies, will now offer a free version of its service along with existing paid versions. CodeGuard Free costs nothing, comes with a guarantee, and supports one site, one database and 5GB of storage per company.
According to , the vast majority of website owners don–t backup their sites. For some, the process is too complicated; for others, it–s one more cost to avoid. Once the sign-up process is complete, customers will provide the URL for their website, which CodeGuard will use to perform a series of malware scans to ensure that the website is healthy and there are no known viruses in the code. After that, the customer provides the appropriate FTP/SFTP credentials. Customers also have the option to select what folder inside their FTP/SFTP directory they want to back up. If customers are not quite sure what to do here, they can simply select to “Capture All Code,” and CodeGuard will grab everything.
