PDI Plugs Into the Cloud for Data Center Power Management

RICHMOND, VA — (Marketwire) — 08/02/11 — Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI), providers of mission-critical equipment, alternative energy, industrial, and commercial power markets, today announced the availability of PDI PowerMap. The new software is a cloud-based offering that eliminates the need for handheld meters by automatically uploading individual circuit-based power stats and securing the information in the cloud. Additionally, users can access charts and graphs by mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops to view phone-bill quality power consumption reports.

“PowerMap streamlines the process of collecting power consumption stats from hundreds of servers while bringing power management right in line with today-s preferred method of accessing data — mobile devices,” said Vice President of Marketing, Service, Dave Mulholland.

PowerMap features include:

Power consumption stats stored and accessed through the cloud.

TCP/IP access into any branch circuit.

Energy consumption metering including: Voltage kw, Real Power kw, Apparent Power kw and Energy kwh.

Graphical power consumption analysis by day, week or month.

Exportable CSV, Excel, ODS, PDF, RTF and XML reports.

Email alarm notifications to ensure power loads do not exceed circuit levels.

Early PowerMap adopter, Luke Norris, Founder/CEO of , describes the offering as a win-win for his company and customers, “We wanted to come up with new billing methods for our cloud and collocation offerings while addressing the need for even greater accuracy when billing clients for actual circuit usage, particularly when clients were only using a portion of a circuit.”

PeakColo has effectively solved these needs with the introduction of PowerMap. Norris continues, “Now we don-t have to remove the panel board covers off all the circuit breakers to get a client-s actual power usage. PeakColo now has more accurate billing because PowerMap instantly uploads all the information into the cloud, where we can access and send our customers detailed power utilization reports along with their invoices — recouping thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to inaccurate billing.”

Jeff Drazan, Managing Partner, Bertram Capital, sums up PDI-s new offering, “The PDI team expands their award-winning monitoring products with the introduction of the PDI PowerMap system. The cloud-based solution allows data center, industrial, commercial, and residential customers to see and manage their power usage instantaneously, off of their mobile devices. This new platform leverages PDI-s strong position in the rapidly expanding data center market and increases the velocity of PDI-s market penetration in the commercial, industrial, and residential power monitoring markets.”
