“I came up with the idea for two reasons,” said Dan Williams, inventor of the device and founder of Studio Tiga in Foothill Ranch, Calif., an app development firm. “First, my mother-in-law has a hearing problem and often couldn–t hear her timer go off while she was cooking. The flashing green and red lights really help her recognize when the alarm does go off.” And, secondly, it was difficult for my large family to recognize the similar beeps from multiple timers used during our big holiday meal preparations.”
