Radical.FM Announces –RadCast for Cash– Streaming Radio Contest Giving Away $500 a Week

VENICE, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/13/15 — Radical.FM (), the Internet radio service delivering America–s largest free and ad-free music library, today announced “RadCast for Cash,” a first-of-its-kind streaming radio contest highlighting Radical.FM–s new RadCasting social listening, sharing, and live discovery experience. The four week contest aims to encourage music lovers to share and discover music in real-time using Radical.FM–s RadCasting capability, which allows users to tune-in or broadcast (RadCast) music live in real time (even while mobile). Starting today through November 10, 2015, RadCasters who broadcast their music stations live and share streams via Facebook and Twitter have an opportunity to win $500 in cash every week. RadCasts are ranked in popularity by likes and the RadCaster who earns the most likes each week will be awarded the cash. For complete details and rules, go to .

“RadCast for Cash is a fun way to show how our new RadCasting feature combines the personalization of internet with the live community of old-school radio,” said Radical.FM CEO Thomas McAlevey. “RadCasting–s sharing and discovery capabilities perform better as a Caster–s audience grows. Given our broadcast roots, taking a page from the radio promotion handbooks of yesteryear and targeting streaming music fans with an exciting cash contest was a natural step for Radical.”

RadCasting is –Pandora Meets Facebook,– delivering a perfectly synchronous music sharing and discovery experience. When users hear songs they like, they can add them to their own Stations with a single tap. Listeners can also tell Casters what they think via real-time chat for real-time feedback and conversation, and everyone can inform friends and followers via Facebook and Twitter. RadCasting is available now on , , and all major browsers.

“Music was meant to be shared. With RadCasting, friends can listen to the same upbeat music in real-time while jogging on opposite coasts, or an online study group can tune in to the same focus-friendly RadCast while working on a group project,” said McAlevey. “This is the most seamless live-sharing and music discovery experience anywhere. So we–re inviting everyone to join the RadCasting revolution and maybe even pick up some extra money while sharing tunes and having fun.”

The contest will run for four weeks, beginning Tuesday, October 13th at 12:00am PDT and will end Monday, November 9th at 11:59pm PST. Each contest cycle runs for one week and the winner will be contacted via email and announced on Radical FM–s and the following Tuesday at 9:00am PST. Winners will be paid via PayPal or personal check.

Radical is a privately held American corporation. Tracing its roots back to Tomsradio.com (a Swedish streaming service that helped inspire Spotify), as well as Bandit Radio (Sweden–s biggest rock radio station, and one of the first broadcast radio stations to simulcast over the internet in 1994), Radical continues a two-decade tradition of pushing the boundaries of online music. Radical–s broadcast radio roots helped inspire its uniquely effective interface. Unlike typical algorithm-heavy online radio services, Radical.FM is programmed by hand, by human beings. With a powerful yet intuitive design, no other service allows such a high degree of control over an endless stream of music. Radical offers RadCasting, unique, personal broadcasting with synchronous music sharing and discovery, where users can broadcast and share their stations with any other user, on mobile or desktop. As always, Radical is free and commercial free, and pays artists for every song streamed.
