Oceanside Software: Fighting the Risk of Credit Card Fraud With PA-DSS 2.0 Certification

DALLAS, TX — (Marketwire) — 08/05/11 — Oceanside Software Corporation formally announces PA-DSS 2.0 certification for their flagship product, Oceanside Point-of-Sale.

In an era of electronic payment globalization, preventing credit card fraud is on the minds of banks, merchants, credit card processors and independent software vendors such as Oceanside Software. The overall goal is to accept electronic payments while also protecting the cardholder-s personal data.

In July of 2010 the PCI-DSS standards council, an open industry standards body providing management of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), PIN Transaction Security (PTS) requirements and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS), mandated that all payment applications certify in accordance with the payment application data security standard. Obtaining certification is an intensive process that has taken companies as many as 18 months to achieve.

On August 1st of 2011, Oceanside Software received official word from the PCI Security Standards Council that their flagship product Oceanside POSĀ® is now accepted as a validated payment application. This accomplishment marks a tremendous milestone for Oceanside as they are one of only a handful of companies that have officially certified against the latest 2.0 standard.

Oceanside Point-of-Sale is a payment application used in quick-casual and fine dining restaurants as well as bars and nightclubs. Oceanside-s latest install of Oceanside POSĀ® on August 5th can be seen at The Blitz Sports “Bra” and Grill in Garland, Texas.
