MarketLive Launches Multi-Site E-Commerce Operations for Herrschners Across the United States and Canada

PETALUMA, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/20/15 — , the e-commerce technology platform for fast-growing retailers, today announced that crafts retailer Herrschners has chosen to re-platform its multi-website commerce operations in USA and Canada on MarketLive–s award-winning commerce suite.

Herrschners was founded in 1899 in Chicago and became one of the first catalog retailers in the United States, as pioneers moving West would continue to mail-order needlecrafts and sewing notions from Fredrick Herrschner. The Herrschners– catalog has been in continuous operation for 100 years, and the company–s operations now include also an online store featuring six different mini-sites that retail everything from knitting yarns to puzzles to holiday-inspired do-it-yourself craft kits.

The company approached MarketLive with the challenge of upgrading and integrating their six retail websites serving US and Canadian customers — completely replacing Herrschners– home-built e-commerce IT platform.

MarketLive has developed a cross-branded merchandising environment for Herrschners, which allows them to integrate the six mini-sites with a single checkout so that customers can shop all of the Herrschners brands simultaneously. The new e-commerce store also optimizes merchandising for mobile screens using the native responsive design capabilities of MarketLive–s platform, and allows for much quicker execution of all marketing and merchandising initiatives — a key requirement for the busy fourth-quarter holiday sales season. The new MarketLive-built platform for Herrschners went into operation on October 15th.
