Embarcadero Webinar: Case Study Presentation on Data Modeling for SAP Applications

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/21/15 — is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 to present a case study on data modeling for SAP applications, providing insights for data professionals and database administrators. The online webinar will profile how Boeing used Silwood Technology–s Safyr solution to integrate SAP into their ER/Studio® environment. The webinar will be hosted by Ron Huizenga, senior product manager at Embarcadero Technologies; Lorin Yeaton, data architect with Boeing Technology; and Nick Porter, technical director and Roland Bullivant, sales and marketing manager with Silwood Technology.

It is essential to understand all relevant corporate data to support critical initiatives such as data warehouse and analytics, as well as governance focused activities such as data quality and master data management. Data modelling is the means to map the corporate data landscape in order to achieve this level of understanding across traditional relational databases, Big Data, and ERP solutions. A typical first step is to reverse engineer these databases and data stores into data models. However, most ERP solutions present additional challenges in exposing the foundational metadata. This gap is bridged by utilising Safyr to extract the metadata from the internal dictionaries. This is a vital step for customers who have SAP, Oracle, Salesforce or other ERP and SaaS applications, and need to understand data structures for use with ER/Studio. This reduces cost, time and risk by using a tool to extract and integrate key metadata.

This case study presentation will provide insights into why Boeing chose Silwood–s Safyr solution to integrate SAP into their ER/Studio environment, and resulting productivity improvements, including:

Integrating metadata in their data dictionary

Creating submodels to improve navigation of data models

Producing master files for data governance

This is a 60-minute live webinar (45-minute presentation followed by Q&A). Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar. Following the webinar, an on-demand replay as well as a PDF of the slide presentation will be available to registrants.
