Glassdoor Reinvents Job Search With New, Industry-Leading Search Experience Preferred Nearly 2:1 Over Other Job Sites

MILL VALLEY, CA — (Marketwired) — 01/13/16 — ®, the world–s most transparent and comprehensive jobs and recruiting marketplace, today announced it has launched a powerful designed to help job seekers quickly determine if a job or company is the right fit and, in turn, create a more effective recruiting pipeline for employers.

Through Glassdoor–s new job search, job seekers can now quickly and easily browse multiple listings alongside company star ratings, read full job descriptions and research companies — all through a single window so they can quickly determine if the job and company are a good fit. The new job search experience automatically integrates available ratings and reviews, salary data and office photos into job listings for the nearly 500,000 companies featured on Glassdoor. Employers can also elect to enhance their job listings with custom branding and messaging.

Glassdoor–s new job search is significantly preferred over competitive formats. In a recent survey conducted online in December 2015 by Harris Poll on behalf of Glassdoor in which people were shown blinded job listings from four leading job sites, the new Glassdoor job listing layout was preferred nearly two to one over the listing formats of other leading job sites.(1) The new Glassdoor job search has streamlined what is typically viewed as a clunky process in the category, in which job seekers must navigate multiple tabs just to read job descriptions and then toggle between multiple sites to research companies. The top three reasons cited among current job seekers who prefer the new Glassdoor design is 1) it–s more engaging (61 percent), 2) it–s easier to read (57 percent), and 3) it provides the information to make a more informed decision (45 percent).(1)

“Glassdoor–s new job search is simply a better, faster way for job seekers to search for jobs and for employers to reach and connect with quality talent,” said Robert Hohman, co-founder and CEO of Glassdoor, Inc. “Not only does Glassdoor aggregate the most jobs available online, we also provide a critical window of transparency into what it would be like to work at a company to help job seekers quickly evaluate if a job and company are right for them. Our new format also helps employers stand out from the competition by integrating attributes of their employer brand and value proposition directly into their job listings, which helps attract the right candidates.”

Glassdoor first introduced job listings to its popular user-generated content in 2010 and is now one of the largest aggregators of job listings in the world, and also the fastest-growing job site in the U.S.(2), attracting nearly 30 million monthly unique users. No other job site offers job seekers as many job listings combined with such a vast array of user-generated content as Glassdoor. In addition to the new integrated job search format, Glassdoor users can browse company ratings and reviews, CEO approval ratings, detailed pay data by job title, interview reviews and benefits reviews.

Thousands of employers are also currently leveraging Glassdoor as an effective way to recruit top talent and the new job search allows any employer to enhance their job listings with relevant employer branding. Employers purchasing a Glassdoor Enhanced Profile and sponsored Job Advertising can now have their job postings target relevant job candidates on Glassdoor and integrate customized branding and messaging, including a cover photo or video and a featured review.

User and employer-generated content about workplaces on Glassdoor provide a valuable perspective for candidates evaluating a company, and helps them self-select in to, or out of, the application process. The result is better-qualified applicants coming through Glassdoor than through other job sites. According to a report by Brandon Hall Group that evaluated third-party recruitment agency data, it typically takes half as many resumes for a company to find a hire through Glassdoor than through traditional job boards, at a fraction of the cost.(3)

Launching today in the U.S., Canada and the UK, Glassdoor plans to roll out its new job search to other regions throughout 2016.
