PernixData Appoints Storage Industry Veteran Mike Munoz as Chief Revenue Officer

SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/02/16 — announced today that Mike Muñoz has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer. As the newest member of the executive leadership team, Mike will lead PernixData–s sales efforts, expanding the company–s global presence with the goal of placing and software in every datacenter worldwide.

Mike has more than 25 years of experience and insight building and leading sales teams at some of the world–s most respected enterprise storage companies, including Nimble Storage, Data Domain and NetApp. Most recently, he was the vice president of worldwide sales at Nimble Storage, where he grew the company from a private company with $0 in revenues to a public company worth nearly $2.5 billion. Prior to Nimble Storage, Muñoz was divisional vice president of sales at Data Domain. As the leader of the company–s most successful sales division, he played a key role in Data Domain–s 2008 IPO as well as its $2 billion acquisition by EMC in 2009. Muñoz has also held sales leadership positions at Z-Force and BlueArc.
