ROSH PINA, ISRAEL — (Marketwired) — 02/08/16 — (NASDAQ: OTIV), a global provider of near field communication (NFC) and cashless payment systems, has appointed as its exclusive distributor to the Italian market.
Founded in 1984, Milan-based MDS Electronics is a leading distributor of control terminals, and credit and identification systems for cash and cashless payments. Its solutions are primarily sold to the vending, gaming, ATM, and office automation markets.
MDS will incorporate oti–s new solution, which includes its NFC-based cashless readers and vending telemetry controller, into MDS– installed base of vending machines, as well as future manufactured vending machines. The otiMetry enables communication between vending machines, allowing operators to remotely manage an individual machine or entire fleet of machines.
The agreement requires MDS to purchase at least $1.1 million of otiMetry solutions by the end of 2017. The companies plan to go-to-market with the integrated system immediately.
