COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — (Marketwired) — 02/16/16 — The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of storage and information technology, today announced the appointment of Michael Oros as its new Executive Director. Mr. Oros brings more than 20 years of experience in strategy, planning, development, and execution in IT services and high-tech industry.

In his time at Intel Corporation, Mr. Oros oversaw a variety of business development and strategic industry initiatives for the company–s cloud, data center, storage and mobility efforts. He led the formation of the Open Data Center Alliance, and with the Board of Directors, established the organization–s presence and reach across six continents, with over 300 world leading members accelerating cloud adoption and transformation of the IT landscape. He also led the storage and networking components vendors through the biggest I/O transitions of the past decade, and this industry transformation experience is invaluable as the storage industry is on the precipice of the most significant transitions of this decade.
