Spark is one of the most important Big Data technologies to emerge in the past few years because of its ability to run batch processes as much as 10 times faster than MapReduce and perform in-memory analytics up to 100 times faster. Wikibon–s research suggests Spark will complement Hadoop, although it will probably take market share from its primary data processing engine.
