USEI Completes Milestone Nationwide 10 Gigabit Fiber Network

Brewster, Washington, March 7 2016: USEI, a provider of satellite and terrestrial connectivity, has successfully deployed a 10 Gigabit fiber network. This represents a major achievement for the company and connects its West and East Coast teleports, enabling extended coverage across the United States and beyond.

The USEI nationwide communications network connects their Brewster, Washington and recently acquired Vernon Valley, New Jersey teleports to strategic ‘carrier hotels’ Points of Presence (POP) locations across the United States at Ashburn, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Spokane and Wenatchee. The network is designed with resiliency and redundancy to eliminate any single point of failure and incorporates redundant equipment at each node with diversely routed circuits. With a Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 99.95+, customers will have high confidence that their connectivity is well protected.

Jim Veeder, CEO and Owner of USEI commented: “We are thrilled to announce the completion of this fiber network which will further enhance the excellent connectivity USEI can offer to our commercial and government customers. Through this network enhancement, we can deliver seamless connectivity to customers in the USA as well as interconnectivity to international under-sea fiber carriers at our Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City and Ashburn, Virginia POPs.”

The fiber network allows USEI to transport diverse routed SONET (DS1, DS1E, DS3, OCn), Carrier Ethernet (FastE & GigE handoffs), and MPLS traffic between all network nodes and Direct Internet Access (DIA) from any node, providing redundant or dual Internet access. This network minimizes additional time and expense to customers ordering network connectivity between any network nodes and provides direct connectivity to USEI teleports via a single POP cross-connect. In addition, this network design will support future growth beyond the initial 10 Gigabit capability.

Veeder continues: “We are proud of our history at USEI but we are constantly looking to the future, and this achievement demonstrates our commitment to offering our customers the very highest standard of connectivity, no matter where they wish to reach.”

With a heritage that stretches back over 30 years, and a team with a combined experience of 260 years in the satellite and terrestrial industries, USEI provides government and corporate customers with satellite teleport services including TT&C, broadcast, multicast and Internet service delivery. USEI teleports benefit from locations that are sheltered and experience low rainfall, as well as excellent visibilities across Europe, the Caribbean, Pacific Ocean Region, Atlantic Ocean Region, Central and South America Regions and the African continent.
