Austin Tech Delegation Now in UK for London Technology Week

LONDON, UK — A delegation of Austin tech executives is in the UK this week to promote Austin at London Technology Week (LTW) events June 20-24, and to continue the work of advancing economic development relationships between the two cities which have been intensifying over the past five years.

The group includes Austin-based executives from Capital Factory, Trip Champ, Articulate Persuasion, SchoolLinks, eyeQ and UK Trade & Investment.

In the UK, the group will be joined by London-based representatives of Austin companies like WP Engine, Indeed, Dell, Spredfast, Homeaway and SXSW.

Activities are being promoted by UK Trade & Investment, the City of Austin Economic Development Department, London & Partners and London Tech Advocates.

While in London the delegation will be focusing on:

Austin–s continued prominence as a major U.S. tech hub
A new Austin Chapter of Tech London Advocates just established
A new Reciprocal Landing Pads Program between the City of Austin and Capital Factory; London is one of the qualifying cities for participation
Member of the British Empire recognition by Queen Elizabeth II just awarded to Austin entrepreneur Fred Schmidt
SXSW 2017 and the opening of PanelPicker on June 28th

Members of the delegation also will be hosting an informational and networking event:

The city will be represented by: Austin-based Haileigh Meyers, Trade & Investment Officer for ICT & Creative Media at UK Trade & Investment, and Hailey Woldt, Global PR Manager of MassChallenge in London who formerly was with the Texas Governor–s Office. Hackney House: Brands As Publishers, Wednesday June 22, 15:00-16:00 at BL-NK, 25-27 Curtain Road, Hackney, London EC2A 3LT. Mary Ellen Dugan, Chief Marketing Officer of WP Engine at Austin–s headquarters will participate in a panel discussion about why and how brands publish across mobile and social platforms, and the tools they deploy to build engagement. London Startups’ Secret Cellar Door Into America at 11:45am as part of the Secret Sauce Conference on Friday June 24, 10:00-17:00, at BL-NK, 25-27 Curtain Road, Hackney, London EC2A 3LT.
