Renewable Energy Leader Geoffrey Brown Named Powin Energy–s President

Brown brings over a decade of international project financing, business development, and implementation expertise and joins Powin at a key moment in the company–s history.

Brown has more than ten years of experience driving wind, solar, and energy storage project acquisition and development efforts for companies including: NRG Renew, Beacon Power, Element Power, and Garrad Hassan America. At NRG, Brown was responsible for setting global strategy for the firm–s microgrid business that focused on offering a turnkey distributed generation solution to multi-national corporations. Brown–s portfolio includes supervision of over 10 GW of utility scale renewable energy projects and he also acquired expertise in developing projects in Alaska, Hawai–i, Guam, and Mexico while with Beacon Power. At Element Power, Brown was responsible for developing project opportunities and created over 7 GW of renewable energy projects. Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a Master in Electrical Engineering degree from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.
