fluidOps Launches Release 7.1

1 September 2016, Walldorf, Germany − fluid Operations® AG (fluidOps), a leader in semantic technologies, has launched version 7.1 of Information Workbench and eCloudManager. Information Workbench is the powerful Smart Data platform, eCloudManager is an agile, flexible, scalable product for building complex cloud environments. This latest release centers on extended functionality for this product. The release also includes smaller technical enhancements in Information Workbench. With release 7.1, eDataCenterAnalyzer, the product for transparent data centers, is now available in version 1.1.

The new features in eCloudManager include:
• Automatic password rotation
Service accounts and passwords pose potential security threats. The new automated password rotation helps users fill this gap. Thanks to the integration in the automated backup and restore mechanisms of eCloudManager, the correct passwords are still available in case of recovery. With this function, fluidOps has enhanced cloud security like no other vendor.
• Landscape mastering Administrators and service providers use this central tool to build, develop and extend enterprise application landscapes in an easy-to-understand cockpit. When updating the landscape or extending the functionality, administrators load a predefined, ready-to-use, Golden Landscape into the mastering and build a new version. This feature also enables landscape template versioning.
• Visual firewall editor With the new visual firewall editor, administrators configure firewall rules for business environments directly in eCloudManager. The integrated change log provides a clear view of all configuration changes.
• Service retention (soft delete)
This function defines the lifetime and delete process of a service in several steps. If a user accidentally deletes a service, the platform operator can restore it at any time within the defined time frame. If a user deletes a service, e.g. a landscape or a virtual machine after this time, it will be removed to a recycling bin. This service will be completely deleted after a set period. With this function, fluidOps has extended lifetime management.

As part of the new release, fluidOps has also improved the usability of many dashboards, including overview, service and capacity. An ITSM assets dashboard has been added as well. Various tweaks to the navigation provide more clarity for users.
