Mineral potential analysis of the German Central Ore Mountains completed

At the Final Conference of the Project ROHSA 3.1 (Rohstoffe Sachsen ? Minerals of Saxony), Beak Consultants GmbH together with the Saxon State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology presented the paper: ?Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based Mineral Potential Evaluation of the Central Ore Mountains for Tin, Tungsten, Fluorite and Barite: Database, Methodology, and Results? on 29th March 2017.
Based on data from 196 technical reports, incl. 531 maps, 423 sections 28833 boreholes, and historical regional geophysical and geochemical datasets, a comprehensive review of the mineral potential of the historical mining region was executed.
For the region of 750 km2, a 2.5 D geological model was created considering the main geological and ore controlling features. Mineral potential maps have been compiled for both locations (where to expect minerals?) and grades (where and how much to expect?). The created models confirmed the high potential of the region for skarn-hosted Tin-mineralisation, and to a lesser degree for skarn-hosted Tungsten-mineralisation. The accuracy of the predictive model is 50 m. Mineral predictive mapping was done by using Beak`s advangeo® Prediction Software.
