Memset Internet to PSN gateway now available through Datum Farnborough

FARNBOROUGH – 26 June 2017 – Datum Datacentres, the Farnborough based provider of ultra secure, high resilience co-location data centres, is delighted to announce that it can now offer access to an award-winning Internet to Public Services Network (PSN) Gateway through its partnership with hosting expert, Memset.

Memset was established in 2002 to offer high-quality, flexible, dedicated and Cloud hosting solutions. It established itself early on as a secure provider to the Public Sector and, today, Memset’s revolutionary Internet to PSN Gateway enables easy to use, flexible and secure data exchange between Internet and PSN-Connected Infrastructure.

The Public Services Network was originally setup to enable data sharing across government departments and external partners who in combination provided services within a specific area of operation and used the same data and where business units, with a similar risk profile, shared risk appetite and common governance framework formed a Community of Interest. It is an interconnected “network of networks” designed to increase efficiency and reduce overall public expenditure replacing the multitude of separately procured and managed networks serving various segments of the UK public sector including Education, Health, Central Government, Local Government.

Memset’s innovative solution provides accredited, flexible and secure routing between their PSN and Internet-connected hosting environments and Datum’s data centres. This routing enables communication between systems hosted at Datum and on the wider PSN, and provides users with control and authority over their applications and data.

Dominic Phillips, Managing Director Datum, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our clients Memset’s unique and highly innovative PSNA-accredited gateway to provide Internet to PSN data transfer. The security and resilience of Datum Farnborough and the nature of the clients who have selected our colocation facility are a good fit for this protected environment. The ability to provide connectivity to the Public Services network adds to the portfolio of connectivity and colocation related services that help to define Datum as a trusted partner to our clients as they transform and grow their IT to support business goals.”

Chris Burden, Sales and Marketing Director at Memset, said: “Working with Datum ensures that one of Memset’s unique products can add value to Datum’s clients. This product provides a unique and highly innovative PSNA accredited solution allowing public facing Internet data to pass through to a PSN based environment in a bi-directional fashion, in a very flexible and cost effective way. It is great to be working together with Datum to provide PSN-related services to their clients.”
