Dane-Elec Adds Driveless my-Ditto Network Server to Award Winning Line

IRVINE, CA — (Marketwire) — 08/25/11 — Dane-Elec, a global leader in consumer electronics, has introduced a driveless version of its award-winning my-Ditto network server. The my-Ditto network server comes with an automatic backup feature and direct transfer protocol technology to securely store digital files. It provides an inexpensive network storage solution for small to medium sized businesses (SMB) that doesn-t compromise on enterprise-level features and benefits.

“Storing and maintaining digital assets for multiple users on a company network can be a risky proposition,” stated Sherry Chapman, director of marketing at Dane-Elec. “The driveless my-Ditto is the perfect solution for VARs, integrators and IT managers servicing SMBs, enabling them to easily manage storage capacity and up to 30 authenticated users. As a local cloud the company can physically control, my-Ditto provides more security than a remote third party cloud service.”

The driveless my-Ditto system can be configured into four different options with two drives:
1) Standard – shows each drive as a unique volume or drive
2) JBOD – combines both drives into a linear fashion to create a single volume
3) RAID 0 – uses the full capacity of both drives for storage
4) RAID 1 – automatically backs up and mirrors digital content. It can accept two drives of up to 2TB in capacity.

The award-winning my-Ditto network server features: local storage; two USB keys for around-the-world remote access; photo and music streaming capabilities; 256-bit AES encrypted connection, DLNA/iTunes media server; and easy plug-and-play configuration. my-Ditto provides an expandable technology solution for SMBs where they can configure it for their needs today and reconfigure their my-Ditto by adding additional storage to meet their future needs as they grow.

The system is compatible with a host of operating systems: Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista, Windows® XP, Mac® OS X 10.5 and higher, Linux® Ubuntu 10.4 and, iPhone®, iPad, iTouch®, Windows® Mobile 6.1 or higher, and Android® 2.2 or higher.

The driveless my-Ditto network server is available now at my-ditto.com for an MSRP of $89.99. my-Ditto is also available with pre-installed hard drives from Amazon.com, MicroCenter, B&H Photo and MacMall/PC Mall.
