Stadtwerke Karlsruhe manages media with BrandMaker

Karlsruhe, 03/12/2008: “Our products make life easier”, is the claim of the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe – now the BrandMaker Media Pool makes it easy for the 1,000 employee-company to manage and archive all kinds of media objects.

Objective of the corporate media database at the Karlsruhe-based utility provider was to create a common and single basis for media management: logos, images and documents were to be stored in a structured way and were to be retrievable in an uncomplicated manner – also beyond the borders of single departments. At the same time, the administration effort for marketing employees was to be kept as low as possible.

„The BrandMaker Media Pool will be the central media source for our marketing and public relations departments in terms of searching and using images, logos and other marketing materials”, said Markus Schneider, Head of Public Relations at the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe. He further explained that BrandMaker significantly contributed to the fact that the media used was always centrally approved, thus quality-assured and up-to-date. At a later point of time, the organization plans to grant access to the media database to further user groups via the intranet – since the web-based software does not require any installation at local desktops, this step will be realizable without difficulty.

With its comprehensive scale of functionalities, the Media Pool minimizes the effort to manage media and ensures the quality of media used for all channels. For example, an automatic duplicate check and detailed access rights grant high-quality data in the database. The uncomplicated data maintenance is, besides the regular import of single media (images, documents, graphics, logos etc.), also supported by a mass import function which allows for the upload of complete directories from CDs or DVDs in one single step. When uploading media into the Media Pool, the technical parameters and attributes of the files are automatically captured by the software.

Mirko Holzer, CEO at pi-consult, the company behind BrandMaker, which is based in Karlsruhe as well, is very happy with the new Karlsruhe-based customer and commented: “We welcome the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe as new BrandMaker client. With the Media Pool, they found the ideal solution for their media asset management. It delivers considerable support for the professional media management at marketing-active organizations such as the Stadtwerke.”
