11 – Gartner will host its first IT Financial, Procurement and Asset Management (ITAM) Summit in London, UK this year, drawing on the success of its annual ITAM Summit in North America. The Summit will be held from 28-29 September 2011, at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel, London.
“The content featured at this Summit generates some of the highest inquiry volumes in Gartner and especially so during economically tough periods as organisations seek ways to effectively reduce and optimise IT costs,” said Alexa Bona, research vice president at Gartner. “A Gartner survey of 186 European IT procurement, IT asset managers and IT finance executives showed that IT cost optimisation was top of their lists of hot topics and that is one of the overall themes of the Summit. Trends affecting ITAM, IT procurement and IT finance, and ITAM best practices and processes were next on the list and presentations on these topics will be featured at the London event.
“The Summit creates a unique setting for organisations to get the latest Gartner insight on how to better understand and manage their IT costs,” said Ms Bona. “Delegates will find the answers to the latest market trends, including how to: reduce long-term IT costs, better manage software costs and licensing, and prepare for the impact of new IT trends like cloud computing, virtualisation, consumerisation and more.”
The Summit focuses on the three key components to understanding the value of IT: IT financial management, IT procurement and IT asset management. It will feature three tracks:
