allmaxx Establishes Mobile Footprint with YOOSE Location-Based Consumer Targeting Expertise

Michael Walser, MD of allmaxx, says the move to mobile was a natural extension of their successful online business model and was fuelled by consumer expectations, “The student generation we market to live in a mobile world where the majority of their communications, information and entertainment is accessed and enjoyed through a mobile device. We knew we could bring significant new value to their allmaxx membership by developing a location-based mobile solution that would assist them in making the most of local offers whilst they were on-the-move. We turned to the hyper-local consumer engagement experts, YOOSE, to help us achieve that by translating our brand into the mobile arena.”

YOOSE developed the branded location-based deal-finding app as a white-label solution and has successfully brought the allmaxx deal base into the mobile space and created a smooth path for future real-time deal translation as new offers become available. The allmaxx app, which is now available on IOS and Android, the two largest mobile operating systems in Germany, allows users to search and display offers and coupons in their vicinity for redemption in-store. The nationwide deals base currently stands at over 5,000 unique offers and is growing daily. Users can search by category (e.g. Food & Drink; Nightlife; Sports & Leisure) and access all the current offers from local partners in the form of mobile coupons offering discounts, 2-for-1 deals or other incentives. The distance between the user and the outlet is shown and a map view makes it simple for consumers to navigate their way to the particular outlet.

Crucially, early response from the membership base has been overwhelmingly positive. “We can measure the success of the project based on user engagement and response,” says Christian Geissendoerfer, CEO of YOOSE, “members say it’s incredibly easy and intuitive to use and they have been quick to adopt the app making it central to their allmaxx membership experience.” The enthusiasm from members will be put to good use as it creates a new conversation between the club and its membership base as to ongoing development of the app and the allmaxx presence in the mobile space. “We’re now in a position to build more features for version 2.0 of the app and further refine the experience in line with member expectations. The YOOSE approach to bring our brand to mobile is incredibly valuable for the collaboration it affords – not just between our two companies, but for every partner and every member that comes into contact with the allmaxx brand,” says Walser who describes the mobile app designed by YOOSE as completing the missing element in the allmaxx offering.

With the success and popularity of the allmaxx brand firmly embedded as part of the benefits to student life for many young Germans, the club is now in a position to further monetize their business model and effectively strengthen consumer engagement and targeting through the mobile channel.
