Oracle Highlights Java EE Momentum at JavaOne Conference

Since its availability in December 2009, six major IT vendors have released certified, open source and commercial implementations of Java EE 6, making it the most rapidly implemented release of the platform to date.

Java EE 7, the next generation of Java EE, is well underway with 10 active Java Specification Requests (JSRs) being worked on through the (JCP) by over 20 different participating companies and represented by hundreds of engineers.

Java EE 7 is being designed to further enhance the Java EE platform for Cloud environments. As the reference implementation for Java EE, GlassFish Server is not only a complete Java EE 6 implementation (available in open source as and commercially as ), it also is the proving grounds for the upcoming Java EE 7.
