SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwire) — 10/05/11 — , Inc., a data center infrastructure and energy management solutions provider, today announced that its Cofounder and CTO, Clemens Pfeiffer, will present a session about capacity and power management in disaster recovery planning at taking place in Orlando, Florida on October 11 – 13, 2011 at JW Marriott Grande Lakes.

Titled, “Capacity and Power Management: the Forgotten Factors in Disaster Recovery Planning,” the session will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 2:10 pm. Mr. Pfeiffer will provide attendees with best practices for proper power and cooling support and capacity management in an effective DR strategy. He will answer questions including: Can the power system provide adequate backup power during utility outages?; Is the power protection system capable of achieving desired levels of availability and handling future capacity levels?; and will the cooling outage response plan ensure the operation of critical equipment while gracefully shutting down secondary applications?

“Data Center operators are constantly assessing their data centers and the need for facility and IT capacity to guarantee smooth operations and provide for disaster recovery,” explained Pfeiffer. “However, most plans, while integrating data and applications into disaster recovery procedures, ignore the impact of power and cooling wasted from running standby equipment needed only when peak load occurs.”
