NXP Creates a New Digital Experience for Customers

EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS — (Marketwire) — 10/13/11 — The importance of online channels in today-s dynamic semiconductor market, where engineers are under constant pressure to deliver application designs on time and quickly access technical specs, is growing. Today NXP Semiconductors (NASDAQ: NXPI) announced a radical redesign and re-launch of its website, , to better align with the needs of its customers in the High Performance Mixed Signal and Standard Products markets, helping them to locate products, applications and technical support in the most intuitive, quick and reliable way possible. The new website is part of a broader online marketing ecosystem, consisting of distribution partner websites, third party websites and NXP-s own product selector applications for /, offering product, application and support information in a reliable, relevant and recognizable way.

Built with the customer in mind, NXP-s new website garnered input and real-time feedback from over 1,000 engineers via online focus groups. User input was canvassed and acted upon at every stage of development, with the site created in beta and opened up to users to ensure that it was centered around their requirements.

The engineer-led feedback was instrumental in establishing the new navigation structure and design style, with a rotating banner incorporated down the side of each page to help visitors navigate the new features.

Building on NXP-s established ecosystem of distribution partners the new site offers easier ways to purchase NXP products and demo boards online. The site is connected directly to distribution order systems, providing engineers with the ability to seamlessly source samples, products and demo boards via individual product pages.

Further site improvements include a search engine that provides better and faster results; an easy to use product catalogue; a dedicated section for application content; more technical block diagrams and support information; and improved datasheets, application information and training materials.

The new site is also fully integrated with social media channels, making it even easier for customers to access and share content online.

“It is clear from numerous UBM Electronics studies of information gathering behavior that company websites are one of the key contacts a customer will have with a semiconductor vendor,” said Paul Miller, CEO, UBM Electronics. “As marketing is increasingly a differentiator in our industry, it is terrific to see companies like NXP leading the way; constantly innovating and helping customers navigate quickly to get the information they need.”

“NXP.com is the first port of call for many of our customers, prospects and partners, so it-s absolutely vital that our site is as user-friendly and informative as possible,” said Sander Arts, vice president, marketing & communications, NXP Semiconductors. “Following fantastic feedback and insight from our stakeholders, we have created a truly integrated digital experience that will function as an online ecosystem for our customers and partners. Helping engineers to more easily source and purchase relevant products is also a major step forward in the site-s design, bringing us even closer to our customers.”

“Our new website is completely focused on helping our customers to design more efficiently and react quickly to market dynamics,” said Michel Claassens, senior director, digital marketing and branding, NXP Semiconductors. “We took a user-centric design approach throughout with intensive rounds of customer interviews, online surveys and visual design prototyping. This feedback enabled us to rebuild the site as a customer-friendly resource and create a world-class online destination to help our customers to make quicker and more informed decisions about the best solutions available at NXP.”

NXP used an extensive feedback process to build the new website and we-d like to extend this further to hear what you think of the new nxp.com.
