CloudFloor to Host Webinar to Discuss New White Paper, “DNS in the Cloud: Critical, Different, and Difficult”

WALTHAM, MA — (Marketwire) — 10/13/11 — CloudFloor, a division of Everbridge Inc., announced the publication of a new white paper by the Yankee Group on behalf of CloudFloor titled, “.” A free webinar on DNS in the Cloud, featuring Yankee Group Vice President Jennifer Pigg, author of the white paper, will take place at . Pigg will share her conclusions regarding the changing DNS needs of businesses considering shifting their applications to cloud environments. .

Applications in the cloud have very demanding requirements to operate at a level that provides the maximum benefit. In order to meet these stringent requirements, robust DNS services are critical, but are scarcely available today. This need has never been more relevant: in two years, 39% of enterprises plan to shift at least one third of their current IT budget to cloud operations.

Of the top eleven barriers to cloud adoption, Yankee Group identified eight that are directly impacted by the DNS infrastructure. Most DNS providers are ill-prepared to address the issues that cloud migrations raise. According to Yankee Group, to successfully realize the benefits offered through cloud computing efficiencies, a DNS provider must have specific capabilities to successfully address these eight barriers.

Also joining the webinar is Paul Smith, product lead for CloudFloor DNS. Smith, a DNS veteran, will share his insights and solutions to the issues raised by cloud-based applications. There will be a question and answer session with the featured panelists following the webinar.

CloudFloor was founded in 2010 by a team of seasoned technology executives and entrepreneurs. In 2010, CloudFloor acquired leading international managed DNS and domain name provider, MicroTech Limited, and re-launched the products as CloudFloor DNS. Everbridge, Inc., the world-s recognized leader in emergency and incident notification systems, acquired CloudFloor in 2011. The acquisition provides CloudFloor a real-world use case for its cloud management and optimization solutions. CloudFloor is currently working to introduce new features to CloudFloor DNS and CloudControl in upcoming versions.
