Health Language Launches LEAP I-10 Claims Analytics Module at WEDI 2011 Fall Conference

BALTIMORE, MD — (Marketwire) — 10/24/11 — (HLI), the global leader in medical terminology management, announced today that it will introduce the claims analytics module of its LEAP I-10 tool at the being held Oct. 24-27 at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Md. The module, which enables insurers and providers to analyze and simulate the financial impact of the transition from ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and procedure code sets, will be demonstrated at the HLI booth.

“With the claims analytics module, managed care and provider organizations can use their real-world, historical ICD-9 data to produce and drill down into reports by individual diagnosis-related group, physician, hospital and inpatient and outpatient claim,” said George Schwend, HLI-s president and CEO. “The tool will give users valuable insight and visibility into how ICD-10 will affect their bottom line, helping them to identify, assess, and preemptively address potentially troublesome revenue variances associated with the migration to ICD-10. It also will provide the raw data that enterprises need to test their upgraded or new ICD-10-compliant information systems, which must be up and running by Oct. 1, 2013.”

In addition to demonstrating LEAP I-10 and its claims analytics module at the conference, HLI will present “ICD-10: Data-driven Analytics and Conversion Best Practices” at 5:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Constellation Ballroom A. Dr. Brian Levy, HLI-s senior vice president and chief medical officer, will detail how HLI and its clients work together to create well-defined ICD-10 use cases and mapping decisions. He will also reveal representative ICD-10 conversion findings HLI has uncovered using real ICD-9 claims data from several national health plans, and discuss how payers can address them.

LEAP I-10 is an affordable, easy-to-use, scalable solution that simplifies the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10. It lets users make informed decisions about how to comply with and manage the challenging switch to ICD-10 efficiently and cost-effectively, without having to rely heavily on medical terminologists or IT professionals. LEAP I-10 is built on HLI-s flagship product, the ®, which provides enterprise terminology management services such as standard and custom mapping, modeling, analysis and local content management for more than 180 terminologies and content sets including ICD-9, ICD-10 and CMS General Equivalency Maps (GEMs).
