ANDOVER, MA — (Marketwire) — 11/09/11 — RAID Inc. today announces that it has selected SMART-s XceedIOPS SAS 2.5″ solid-state drives (SSDs) for use in its 2U 24-Bay EBOD, its purpose-built storage solution designed for mid-level, enterprise-class storage applications. The EBOD, equipped with eight XceedIOPS SAS 2.5″ 200GB SSDs, will be on display and demonstrated in RAID-s booth #2543 at SC11 on November 14-17 in Seattle, WA.
The RAID 2U 24-Bay EBOD is designed to be a cost-effective, enterprise-class JBOD using the latest 6G SAS architecture. Engineered to be flexible and scalable, the RAID EBOD enables SAS/SATA hard-disk-drive and SSD connections using standard SCSI protocol. It offers best-in-class performance, energy efficiency, and 24×7 high-availability redundancy of key components.

Designed with performance, endurance and reliability in mind, the XceedIOPS SAS SSDs incorporate enterprise-grade multi-level-cell (E-MLC) NAND flash technology. SMART-s XceedIOPS SAS SSDs provide a five-year minimum operational life, even in workload-intensive and high-performance computing environments. Featuring sequential read/write performance of 250/230 MB/s and random read/write performance of 26K/20K IOPS, the XceedIOPS SAS SSD is available in capacities ranging from 100 to 400GB. Additional reliability features built into the XceedIOPS SSDs are a high reliability backup power circuitry, power fail recovery, thermal monitoring and advanced error-correction capabilities.
