BSQUARE Releases TestQuest CountDown Version 3.3

BELLEVUE, WA — (Marketwire) — 11/15/11 — (NASDAQ: BSQR), a leading enabler of smart, connected devices, today announced the release of TestQuest CountDown Version 3.3. This new version of the Company-s leading test automation technology features improved text recognition, enhanced Asian language support and lower database storage requirements. It also can be used for Windows 8 application testing.

As part of the BSQUARE commitment to its growing Asian customer base, TestQuest CountDown has improved intelligent text recognition for Asian languages, including Chinese, Korean and Japanese, as well as faster overall text recognition. Customers will see up to a 92% processing speed improvement for major European languages and up to a 40% increase in accuracy for Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

BSQUARE has also localized CountDown TestManager into Simplified Chinese. TestManager is a frequently used feature of the automated testing solution that schedules and monitors test case execution. Localization of this popular feature enables test lab technicians using TestQuest CountDown to be more productive by working in their native language.

“Localization was a top customer request in China,” said John Traynor, Vice President Products for BSQUARE, “and we are pleased to make this component more accessible to native Chinese speakers.”

One of the new benefits of TestQuest CountDown 3.3 is better test database performance. Customers who execute test cases for applications and systems with large displays or rich graphics can experience the TestQuest CountDown improved image, icon and intelligent text recognition while reducing their SQL Server storage requirements. Typically, customers may see storage reductions of up to 60% or more without any loss in test execution quality or post-test analysis capability.

In response to customer feedback, TestQuest CountDown 3.3 also includes support for both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows 7. And, on the heels of the Microsoft BUILD conference, which introduced some of Microsoft-s plans for Windows 8, BSQUARE announced that TestQuest CountDown 3.3 enables application developers to immediately begin limited testing of applications developed for the Windows 8 Developer Preview.

Traynor continued, “As Windows developers ourselves, we are delighted to support Microsoft and the next wave of applications for PCs and embedded devices. As Windows 8 moves closer to release, BSQUARE will be working diligently to support the Windows ecosystem with best-in-class functional testing through our TestQuest products.”
