The event showcased various tools being used by The University of Georgia-s students in the Design and Merchandising areas, as well as the work students are completing and research they are conducting. Attendees were also informed of the support The University of Georgia has received from The Georgia Soft Goods Educational Foundation, which has funded work such as the research of more eco-friendly resources for textile products.
As a Platinum sponsor of the event, this spring Lectra will name one student at the University of Georgia as the Lectra scholar of the year. Andrea Giraudo, the recipient of last year-s Lectra scholar of the year award spoke about how support, such as the Lectra scholarship, benefits the future of the UGA program, as well as increasing opportunities for students.
