BlogHer, Inc. Hires New Editor-in-Chief: Stacy Morrison

BELMONT, CA — (Marketwire) — 12/08/11 — ., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, has announced that Stacy Morrison, the former editor-in-chief for Redbook Magazine, is the new editor-in-chief for BlogHer.com.

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder Lisa Stone, Morrison will oversee BlogHer.com-s strategy, including BlogHer-s user experience, editorial content, partners, and syndication relationships. She begins her new role at the company January 1, 2012.

Stacy Morrison has more than 20 years of publishing experience, including 14 years in the digital/online space, and has been a longtime BlogHer community member and blogger. During her tenure as editor-in-chief for Redbook, the magazine was awarded with the FOLIO: “General Excellence” award in 2005, a Clarion Award in 2007 for General Excellence, and a National Magazine Award nomination in 2007 for Personal Service. Previously, she was also the executive editor at Marie Claire, and editor-in-chief of Modern Bride. Her first book “Falling Apart in One Piece” was published in 2010 by Simon & Schuster and has been optioned for television by Lorne Michaels.
