Death of Mobile Flash No Problem for Claro Users

PERTH, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 12/13/11 — When Adobe announced the death of Flash for mobile devices in November of this year, shockwaves ripped through the eLearning and mLearning development world. Most of the incumbent authoring systems rely heavily on Flash for their eLearning and mLearning output and are now scrambling to provide stopgap solutions for the ever-expanding mobile training market.

Many training departments now find themselves in a difficult position – unable to deliver full featured content to their entire audience, and unsure as to when they will be able to do so using their current tool set.

The demise of Mobile Flash hasn-t hit everyone hard, however. Those using Claro – a collaborative authoring platform that publishes natively to HTML5 – can rest assured that their content can be viewed on any desktop, tablet or smartphone.

“Claro publishes to standards compliant HTML, JavaScript, and CSS – taking full advantage of HTML5 when supported by a device-s browser, and intelligently adjusting for older browsers that do not support it,” says dominKnow CEO Luke Hickey. “We embraced HTML5 because it-s an open technology that gives developers the ability to create powerful learning experiences, but doesn-t chain a training department to proprietary software. We believe training content should be vendor neutral with full data portability.”

This latest release of Claro includes an expanded catalogue of templates to jump-start project development, a library of more than 5,000 high quality royalty-free characters and images to personalize and enrich the learning experience, and one-click publishing to SCORM Cloud.

“Claro has been a good choice for us, and with this latest release, the product continues to get better,” says Colleen Englert of WIN Learning. “With Claro, our development team can work together remotely and in real-time. Claro offers collaboration and content sharing with the power and performance of a desktop e-learning tool. And the customer service has been simply amazing.”

In addition to these latest features, Claro has several unique differentiators that set it apart from other content authoring packages, including:
