Worldwide external controller-based (ECB) disk storage revenue reached $4.6 billion in the third quarter of 2010, up 16 per cent from nearly $4 billion in the third quarter of 2009, according to Gartner, Inc.
While the ECB disk storage market declined in 2009, these 2010 results are also an increase from 2008. Third quarter 2010 worldwide ECB disk storage revenue was up 8.4 per cent over the third quarter of 2008 revenue of $4.3 billion.
