EMEA Server Revenue Rising Fast in 2Q14; Denser Configurations Show Their Steel, Says IDC

International Data Corporation–s (IDC) latest EMEA Server Tracker shows that the EMEA server market saw strong growth in both revenues and units shipped in 2Q14 in comparison to the same quarter last year. Revenues increased 3.6% YoY, to $3.2 billion. This growth was also seen in shipments in the EMEA region, with the first positive YoY unit growth in the past 10 quarters ? an increase of 2.5% for a total of just over 550,000 units.

IDC Lowers Tablet Projections for 2014 as Demand in Mature Markets Levels Off

Following a second consecutive quarter of softer than expected demand, International Data Corporation (IDC) has lowered its worldwide tablet plus 2-in-1 forecast for 2014 to 233.1 million units. The new Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker forecast represents a 6.5% year-over-year growth rate, which is well below the 12.1% growth rate previously forecast.
