LexisNexis to Speak at OSCON 2012 on HPCC Systems

ATLANTA, GA — (Marketwire) — 07/19/12 — LexisNexis® Risk Solutions announced that Bill Fox, senior director of health care, and Jo Prichard, architect, will speak at OSCON 2012 delivering two case studies on how HPCC Systems® found fraud in a government-sponsored health care benefit program and in mortgage services. LexisNexis Risk Solutions is leveraging its technology to help uncover complicated fraud schemes and collusion. HPCC Systems from LexisNexis is an open source, enterprise-proven platform to process and analyze big data.

The session is titled: “Does Crime Pay?” Find the bad guys, detect non-obvious relationships and solve real business problems leveraging Big Data. The case studies will demonstrate to data scientists and developers how to see data trends at previously undetected levels to reveal non-obvious relationships, which can be used to uncover crime, fraud, money laundering or general business opportunities. The presentation will give an overview on how to build rapid delivery queries for big data, leveraging an open source big data processing platform called HPCC Systems.

Bill Fox is senior director, health care, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Prior to LexisNexis, Fox was vice president of Program Integrity at MAXIMUS Federal. He was a partner at the law firm of Post and Schell and was deputy chief of Economic and Cyber Crime at the Philadelphia District Attorney-s office and a special assistant U.S. attorney in Philadelphia. Fox is a senior fellow at the Jefferson School of Population Health in Philadelphia and a frequent speaker on topics of health care fraud, compliance, and quality.

Jo Prichard is Architect, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. He has responsibilities to the core HPCC Systems platform technology. He spearheads big data R&D using the LexisNexis Public Data Graph for various industries to help customers target fraud, collusion and other red flag social indicates. Prior to LexisNexis, Prichard worked for Topspeed Software R&D in London and was a conference speaker on various aspects of the Clarion programming language.
