Lalisio and QUASM merge to tackle the flood of information on the Internet

Computers now give online users access to over 50 billion documents through the Internet. Data from servers is accessible on every continent, and databases grow exponentially every day. However, attempting to search for information through the Internet is to effectively cast a line into a sea of sources without knowing how the data will be sorted and presented for one’s particular needs. The QUASM proprietary technology fulfils an essential need in performing searches as it provides a “search structuring and presentation engine” that gives the user best results offered by the searchable database. While it does not compete with existing search engines, it does offer a more comprehensible navigation tool, currently unavailable to Internet users.

In a first use case, the QUASM engine will be integrated in the knowledge network and literature search engine of Lalisio, which is already used by scholars worldwide at www.lalisio.com. “Based on the implementation of the QUASM engine into Lalisio, users will get a chance to see the “left and right” of what they initially sought after. The concept is very much comparable to the one of book shelves in a library: often the books left and right of the one you initially looked for suit your needs much better, but you would never find them, if you didn’t see them in their context,” says Ute Rother, CEO of Lalisio GmbH. Search results will be displayed in a new way making use of an enhanced method to structure data and reflecting specific user needs.

Rudy Mazzocchi, CEO of QUASM Inc., successful founder of numerous companies in the USA and winner of ‘Florida’s 2004 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award’, adds “We are really looking forward to the joint future with the German IT experts. Lalisio is an ideal partner for us, because together we will be able to make big things happen in the ever increasing market for Information and Knowledge Management.”
