Three Maryland Postsecondary Institutions Choose Parchment Services Integrated on the PeopleSoft Platform

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — (Marketwired) — 08/26/13 — Parchment, the leader in eTranscript exchange with more than 7,700 member institutions, announced today that three Maryland postsecondary schools selected Parchment to integrate and automate eTranscript services on the PeopleSoft platform. Those schools are Towson University, The University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Salisbury University. Towson University joined Parchment in July.

“Automating the transcript process is critical to streamlining operations and enhancing student satisfaction; Parchment makes the process as quick and seamless as possible,” said Steve Smith, University Registrar at University of Maryland Baltimore County. “We-re already invested in the PeopleSoft platform, and we chose Parchment because they deliver a proven, successful PeopleSoft integration. Parchment provides Maryland schools with the ability to send EDI transcripts to other Maryland institutions, and that was important from a system perspective.”

Full automation with Parchment provides a secure, easy-to-use online transcript solution, and allows institutions to order, receive, send and print transcripts in any format or to any data standard. The result is greater operational efficiency, along with significant cost savings, which give all Parchment members the ability to focus their resources on higher-level activities and improved student services.

“UMBC, Towson and Salisbury are leading the state in becoming more cost and resource-efficient by moving toward digital credentials, and promoting student success,” said Leonard Napolitano, Vice President at Parchment. “Parchment is proud to support Maryland students- success.”

Parchment is the leader in electronic transcript (eTranscript) exchange, allowing learners and institutions to collect, analyze, use and share their education credentials in simple and secure ways. More than 7,700 active member high schools and postsecondary institutions, including 8 statewide initiatives, have exchanged nearly 10 million transcripts using Parchment Exchange. Founded in 2003, Parchment Inc. is a venture-backed company headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, with offices in Roseville, CA, Denver, CO, Grand Rapids, MI and Washington, DC.
